ANNOUNCEMENTS, JULY 26TH-27TH

Religious Education is taking registration this month and next. Please make sure you have registered you children for the upcoming year. If you have not re-registered, please also do this. They are in the office in the school building.

Our Gospel Choir sings each year at Holy Spirit Retreat Center in the summer. They will be performing on Aug. 30th, Wed. at 7pm.  If you would like to have dinner, you must pre-buy your tickets. Please see one of the choir members for information.

Please join us for a Zydeco Dance on Sat. Aug. 23rd  here in the hall. Proceeds will go to the Summer Camp.

St. Agatha Food & Wine Festival will be coming up in Sept. Mark the date now, Friday, Sept. 12th. There are details in the bulletin if you would like to participate. They are looking for restaurants who would like to cuisine.

One of our parishioners has founded a non-profit organization, The Unusual Suspects, that works with at risk children. They put on plays that have been written by the children themselves. There will be a production on Aug. 15th & 16th at Narbonne High School in Harbor City. There are newsletters at the doors of the church for further information. What a great way to support these youth as they strive to make a better life for themselves and others.

Coffee and donuts are in the Hall after Masses today.

Announcements, July 12-13, 2008

We would like to welcome Fr. Peter Kenny, a Columban priest, who is with us this week-end. Your donations will go to the Mission Office and be sent to the Columban missions thorough out the world.

Because of low enrollment we have had to cancel the talk by Megan McKenna scheduled for this month. Hopefully we can work with LMU in the future to have a talk held here.

St. Agatha’s is a member of LA VOICE, a grass roots organizing organization that helps us learn how to be a power source in our own lives in our city. Their next meeting will be this Monday evening at 7pm in the Parish Hall. If you are interested in being a part of the change, come to the meeting to find out how you can do this.

Next week there will be a second collection for the National Needs Collection. Details on this collection are in the bulletin.
