JAN. 23RD-24TH

In case you did not have a chance last week to give for Haiti, we will take up a second collection now. This will go through Catholic Relief Services, who have been asked by our Church to handle much of the distribution of goods.

I would like to give a personal thank you to everyone for supporting our car raffle, in whatever way you were able.  I know that money is scarce for lots of you, but people have been very creative and resourceful. I don't know the final numbers on the raffle but will have them for you next week.

Congratulations to our Awardees of the Pastor's Awards. We will present these next Saturday evening, Jan. 30th at our dinner at the De Lancy Center.

The Hispanic Apostolate is putting on a Valentine dance on Feb. 12th Tickets are available after Masses this week-end.

We have post cards that we will mail to our US Senator's and Representatives about Immigration reform. I would ask that the ushers hand these out to the congregation at this time. Please take a sheet and fill it out. You can drop it in the basket next week or at the table at the back of Church today. We are trying to get 25,000 of these filled out and sent to Washington to let them know our feelings on Immigration reform. Thank you.

JAN. 16-17

I know that you may not be prepared to give, but we would like to take up a second collection today for the relief fund for Haiti. If you can not give today, you can always send it to the Church and we will write up one check and send it to Catholic Relief Services. We are also taking up a collection with the children in Religious Education to send through Fr. Ken and the Holy Childhood that will go directly to the Diocese in Port a Prince. Let us keep all of the Haitian people in our prayers.

If you would like to attend the Pastor's Awards dinner, you need to purchase your tickets today or at least reserve them. We need to give them a count by Monday. Hope you can join us for a night of fun, music and good conversation.

We need you to turn your raffle tickets in as soon as you can so we can get an accurate idea of how we are doing. There are still books available at the table behind the Church. Don't forget to stop by and see the Car – she is a bute!!!

Fr. Bill's Bible Study starts up this week: English on Wed. at 7pm and Spanish on Monday, Jan. 25th both in the Guadalupe room.

In the bulletin today there is an insert from the Bishop's Conference about the Health Bill that is being negotiated in Washington. Please read the insert carefully and if you can take action, please do so. There is a web address if you would like to send an email. Thank you for your help. We can help make sure that health care reform will protect the lives, dignity, conscience and health of all. Health care reform should be about saving lives, not destroying them.

Barbara Barabino has tickets to a King's hockey game. She will be in the hall if you would like to avail of this wonderful opportunity. Get them quickly before she runs out.

JAN. 9TH-10TH

I hope to see many of you at our Ministry Christmas Thank you dinner, Sunday night at 6pm in the hall. Please come and let us say thank you. If you want to be part of the gift exchange, bring a gift under $10.

Our monthly contributions for December are in the bulletin this week. Thank you for all you gave to help us be able to keep paying the bills. I want you to know that your generosity is greatly appreciated and helps to keep the number of grey hairs down!!!

We have distributed over 1500 books of raffle tickets which means we should have around $30,000 turned in. We have received much less than that. Please try to turn in the money for the book of tickets you have taken. If we had put on a second carnival, I know that each family here would have spent at least $80 over the week-end. Please support us by turning in $20 for the raffle book.

Be part of the party to congratulate our Awardees on January 30th at DeLancey center. Tickets are on sale after all Masses this week-end for $49.00. Get them quick before we sell out!!

Our Youth have tickets for their Casino run on Jan. 16th to Viejas casino in San Diego. They plan to make the ride down and back lots of fun, so even if you don't win a lot at the casino, you can still be a winner on the bus. See the kids at the table with the Bethlehem wood products for a ticket.

There seems to have been a misunderstanding about Fr. Bill's Bible Study class. The class in English will start on Jan. 20th at 7pm in the Guadalupe room.

Check the bulletin for information on the Revival at Transfiguration Parish on January 15-17 being given by Fr. Joe Idomele.
