MARCH 23RD-24TH

If you signed up to join us in our action of Wed. at City Hall, please plan on being here to catch the bus at 7pm. We hope that our message will reach the White House and Congress so that we will have an immigration reform that will be fair and just for all.
 
If you would like to shed those pounds, come to a Salsa exercise class being given by our own Guadalupe. It is at 4273 Crenshaw Blvd. on Monday and Wed. from 7:30-8:30pm. Pick up a flyer as you leave Church today.
 
Check the bulletin for times of services for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. Let us be a presence to each other this Holy Week.
 
Please bring donations of the following food items for the hot meal for our guests on April 6 to the PC kitchen area between 10am and 1pm.
Anyone want to donate a pot of ready made spaghetti?
Spaghetti sauce with meat
Spaghetti Noodles
Italian salad dressings
Sliced Italian bread
any portion of dessert for 100 guests.
 
Wearable clean used clothing can be brought to the Grotto Parking lot 2-3:30PM ONLY.
 
There is a delicious breakfast in the Hall after Mass being prepared and served by our Marriage Encounter group. Please support them today.

MARCH 16TH-17TH

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all who are Irish and those who wish they were!!
 
In the bulletin this week-end we have a report on how we are doing with Together in Mission. Please take the time to look at it. We are very short in pledges, only around half way. Please look into your heart and see what you can pledge to help us reach our goal. Thank you.
 
This Monday evening is our Penance Service at 7pm in the Church.
 
Our Parish Concert – Voices of Faith-Faces of God will be on April 21st. We are celebrating our 90th year in existence as a Parish and this will kick off our year of celebration. Please plan on coming and bringing friends.
 
Remember our second year Confirmation students who are on Retreat this week-end. Keep them in your prayers as they draw closer to this sacrament.
 
Our Lent movie night will be on March 23rd and we will be showing a very powerful movie, "Of Gods and Men".  Doors open at 6pm and movie begins at 6:30pm in the Hall. Fr. Bill will lead a short discussion after the movie.
 
Our Marriage Encounter Group will be providing us with a delicious breakfast next Sunday. Please plan on supporting them and spending some time with your fellow parishioners.
 
Dr. Sanchez will be here only after the 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Masses.
 
There are donuts and coffee in the Hall today after the Masses.

MARCH 9TH-10TH

We have a second collection today for Catholic Relief Services. Envelopes are in the pews for your use, or just put your gift into the baskets. Thank you for helping.
 
There will be a play on the life of Sr. Dorothy Stang, the sister of Tom Stang of our Parish, who gave her life for the people of Brazil. It will be presented at Holy Spirit Retreat Center on April 13th. There are details in the bulletin and on the posters you can see on the boards.
 
We will be starting online giving very soon. Look for more information in the upcoming bulletins.
 
Please see the bulletin board outside the church with the names of the Youth Volunteers who are being recognized today for their volunteer service in the church during 2012.  Note the various areas of the church where they served.
 
Don't forget the fish fry's on Friday's; we only have a couple of weeks left.
 
Our Soup Supper this Monday will feature Marcus Jacques and Mary Ellen Burton. Soup will be provided by the English Lectors. So it should feed your stomach and soul beautifully.
7pm in the Hall.
 
Next Sunday we will have a doctor, one of our parishioners, giving a short talk after each Mass in the hall about how to talk to your doctor about your health and issues. I hope you will make the time to stay, enjoy coffee and a donut and learn something that may be very useful to you.

MARCH 2ND – 3RD

Thank you if you signed up for the Blood Drive and if you didn't, you can still drop in and give. It is in the Hall until 2pm today.
 
Our Soup Supper this Monday evening will feature Fr. Michael Kennedy S.J. It has been awhile since we have shared with Father Kennedy. I hope you can join us for an insightful evening; 7pm in the Hall.
 
On Friday's of Lent we have the bi-lingual Stations of the Cross at 7pm and you can purchase delicious fish for dinner from 5:30pm till 9pm in the hall.
 
The Easter Triduum schedule is in the bulletin this week. We no longer mail these out, so please be sure to take a bulletin over the next couple of weeks so you will have the times of the Services.
 
One of our parishioners will give a short talk on Sunday, March 17th in the Hall. Dr. Norma Sanchez will talk on "The different ways to communicate symptoms to your doctor." She will be here all Sunday after each Mass giving the workshop in Spanish and English. I know that many of us will learn valuable information that will help us communicate better with our own doctors. Please try to make the time to come and learn and share.
 
There is information on a walk that will be happening in April to raise money for the people of South Sudan. Please read it and if you can help, thank you.
