JUNE 31ST – FEB. 1ST

We enter into Black History month today. Please make sure to read the bulletin for the things being offered this month. We have a wonderful play being performed on Feb. 8th at 2:30pm. On Feb. 22nd there will be a celebration of song and story from 2-4pm. Hope many of you will attend these to celebrate this month.

There are still dinner tickets available to buy for our Pastor's Award dinner on Sat. Feb. 7th. You can purchase them at the table at the back of Church after all Masses today.

Don't forget to turn in raffle tickets today if you want them to count towards one of the candidates.

Feb. 8th is National Autism awareness week. We will have information on this disorder that has stricken many children, including some of our own. I hope you will take and read the hand outs and do what you can to help in the fight against this disorder.

JAN. 24TH-25TH

Bus pass tokens are available today after all the Masses in the hall.

One of our parishioners is offering a free reading program to any adult who would like to improve on their reading skills or learn to read. Please check the bulletin for details.

Fr. Bill has started up his weekly bible study program on Wed. evenings in the conference room. It starts at 7pm.

Our Parish Retreat will be on Sat. March 14th at Holy Spirit Retreat Center. Please stop by the table at the back of Church and let us know if you are interested in attending. We will have a guest priest giving the day's talks and reflections. More information will follow in the upcoming weeks.

We still have many tickets available for the dinner dance. Ministry heads have them available to buy and there are some at the table at the back of church today.

We will be starting up an after school program on Monday's and Wednesday's from 6-9pm in Feb. We are signing up children from 11-18 years of age for the beginning. There are flyers at the doors of the Church and you can talk to Ana Ibarra about this if you have questions.

JAN. 17TH-18TH

We will take up our Kingdom Care collection today after communion.

Last year the Cardinal presented the Annual Archdiocesan Financial Review on the Deanery levels so more of the local parishioners could attend and hear. He is doing this again this year. There is an announcement in the bulletin, so please take one so you will have the dates and places they will be held in our area.

There will be metro bus pass ticket discount vouchers available in the Hall next week, January 25th.

If you are going on the Rome trip or are still thinking about it, or want some information, come to the meeting Sunday, the 18th at 2pm in room 4.

On Feb. 22nd there will be an interactive celebration of the African American Experience in broad strokes. If you would like to be a part of the planning and execution of this event, please contact Sherrill Lombard. Information is in the bulletin

Hope you are all doing well with your raffle tickets. Please turn in money and stubs by Feb. 1st so we can count and see who our King and Queen will be. You can turn them in at the Office or at the table at the back of church.

JAN. 10TH-11TH

We have a few things coming up in early February that you might like to attend. First is the Pastor's Awards Dinner. Tickets are $60 and are on sale after Masses this week-end.

Second is a play by KC Solomon depicting the life of Paul Robison. It will be presented on Sunday, Feb. 8th  at 2pm in the Parish Hall. Tickets are on sale today after all the Masses.

 

We have pictures of some of our candidates for King and Queen on a bulletin board outside of Church. We also have a list of their names if you would like to have it so you can tell us whom you would like to give credit to for your sold raffle tickets. There are plenty of tickets left to be sold, so please stop by the table to take a book.

 

Next Saturday, Jan. 17th, we will have a day for Ministers on the theme of "Eucharist". I hope that many of you will avail of this day to pray and learn together.

 

Transfiguration Church is hosting a REVILVAL from Friday, Jan 16th to Sunday, Jan 18th. Please read the bulletin for details. The speaker will be Rev. Pastor Pratt II.

 

Tickets are available after Mass today for the Martin Luther King Breakfast on Jan. 19th at Verbum Dei High School. They are $20.

JAN 3-4TH

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The St. Vincent De Paul St. Agatha's Conference would like to thank all the wonderful angels from St. Agatha's and their friends who adopted families, donated toys and helped with financial support. We were able to help 45 families: that was 132 children, 21 single mothers and 1 single father. Because of your generosity these families were able to experience the joy and hope of Christmas knowing that there are people in this world with good hearts.

 

We will have a Ministry Christmas Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 11th at 6pm in the Hall. If you are a member of any ministry here at St. Agatha's, you are invited to attend. Please bring a gift to exchange, not worth more than $10 .

 

There will be a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 18th for all who are going on our trip to Rome in 2009 and any one interested in going. It will be at 2pm in room #4.

 

Raffle tickets and dinner tickets are available at the back of Church after Masses today.
